Westview Boys Varsity Basketball team is working hard to prepare for Region. Coach McEvoy is teaching his basketball team to play both sides of the ball. He wants to be able to prepare his team for upcoming games also to become a stronger athlete along with beat Region teams. Also, mentioned patience is key, in addition disciplined, along with having an aggressive defense to compete.
On the other hand, shooting guard and small forward Ryan Brown is preparing daily by going hard at practice, staying focused on the court, and working hard at his own game.
Both Coach McEvoy and Ryan want to become Region champions and put another banner in the rafters currently located in the gymnasium. Ryan currently has no worries since he believes his team is only and will continue to get better. However, Coach McEvoy does have some worries. He worries about his team staying healthy and not getting hurt on or outside of school. Coach McEvoy was also concerned about worries through off-shooting nights when the team is not doing swell. He wants his team to be tough and handle adversity. Both Coaches want the best for their players and that may only happen if preparing right. Coach McEvoy expects his team to compete for state, he says “ no team has prove that they can’t be beat”. Ryan also wants his team to become state champions which is being prepared through hard work.
The boys are working hard to achieve 2018-2019 goals to prepare for further success down the line for their future. We wish our varsity basketball team much luck! Go Knights!!
