Boys Basketball · Kellen Holmes Announced New Head Coach of Boys’ Basketball

Westview High School is thrilled to announce the hiring of Kellen Holmes as the new Head Coach of the boys’ basketball program. Holmes brings over 10 years of coaching experience to Westview.

“I’m so honored. What an opportunity. I’m so excited to get started and see where this year takes us.” -Kellen

Holmes began his basketball career at Seton Hill University in West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC). As a freshman, Holmes started 16 games, averaging 10.5 points and 5 rebounds per game. Because of this, he was awarded WVIAC all-freshman team. As a senior, he finished with career highs of 16.9 points and 4.5 assists per game, while playing nearly 32 minutes per game. Despite missing most of two seasons due to injury, he was still able to average 15.3 points per game during his career.

Holmes went on to become an assistant coach under Bill Brown at DII NCAA California University of Pennsylvania. Most recently, he spent the past six seasons as an assistant coach at Saguaro High School.

Holmes has had the privilege to be trained and mentored by elite coaches, including Shaka Smart (Texas University Head Coach) and John Miller (Hall-of-Fame Head Coach and father of Sean and Archie Miller).

Holmes is excited to combine his coaching and playing background with his passion for player development as he leads his team to success.

“I am VERY excited to have Coach Holmes join our Knight Family. Kellen came highly recommended and I am excited to see what he can do with our program. Our young men are hungry, ready to be pushed, and are excited to give their all to Coach Holmes.” -Tonya Lee
